This weekend I had the chance to go to the NEC in Birmingham (very close to me) to the Hobbycraft show. Stampin’ Up! had a lovely stand there and I had the chance to meet several of my fellow demonstrators including Karin, Monica, Amanda and Michelle. Stop by each of these ladies blogs sometime, they all have lovely ideas. I was especially pleased to spend the afternoon getting to know Karin and her hubby who are the creators of the In Love With Stamping website which has been a huge help to all of us demonstrators and new stampers alike.
While browsing the Stampin’ Up! stand I saw some gorgeous little handbags made from paper and I just had to have a go. Now the one I saw had a nice little bar of choc inside it, but I can’t seem to find any the same size in my grocery store. So I’ve just had a go at making the winter collection of of the kimberlight handbags. Please let me know your favourite!

Making Christmas Cards with Stampin’ Up! is easy! We saw Marli’s great card in my last post and here we have an invitation made with more of that same Designer Paper.
This Paper is called ‘Dashing’ and is actually retired, but still for sale while stock lasts. Stampin’ Up! also has some new Christmas Paper called ‘Holiday Treasures’ as well as a scrapbook kit called ‘I Wish’. These two great products are on page 70 and 73 of the catalogue. To have a look just click on the catalogue to your right!
If you are in the Birmingham, Coventry or N. Warwickshire area, I would love to chat with you about Stampin’ Up! in the UK!

So this past weekend was my world cardmaking day event. It was a simple open house, and a few friends enjoying themselves! I was able to introduce Stampin’ Up! to someone new, and i think she’s hooked!
My friend Marli also came ’round and she is just so creative, that I had to show you what she made.
The Christmas Tree and Christmas Greeting are both from the Season of Joy Stamp Set, which is going to be used for all my cards this year, i just love it! Marli carefully cut out the tree, glued it to a bit of Real Red and carefully cut it out again, leaving just the slightest border, but making the tree just stand out! The paper is from the Designer Series Paper called Dashing. This paper is retired now, but can be ordered until stock runs out! And it’s on offer! £7.75 for a pack of 12×12 sheets. I’ll be using it for my Christmas cards this year too!
And finally, just need to announce that today is my 8th wedding anniversary. Doug and I are celebrating by helping lead a course for strengthening your marriage! How funny is that! Don’t worry, we’re not experts, we use materials created by the organization that made the Alpha Course.

While Lauren napped today, I was actually organized enough to work on a couple cards. For a while now I’ve been checking out this website. This lady posts a colour challenge each week and I’ve finally got something to participate.
This card is only 3″x3″, which is a nice small space to work with when you don’t have a ton of time. I have always liked these colours, as they are in the Earth Elements colour family, but using them on vanilla cardstock just makes it so warm.

I have been spending every spare moment pouring over the fabulous new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue.
The front cover says it all, the catalogue is full of some lovely and classy new stamps, as well as some fun and fancy ones too. A recurring theme seems to be a scalloped edge, and using scallops is a real trend at the moment. To help you get ’scalloping’, SU has released two new punches, the scallop edge and the scallop square. Both of which you can find on page 86/87 of the catalogue. JUST CLICK the catalogue image on your right to have your own chance to pour over it!
Just a reminder that this Saturday is World Cardmaking Day and you are invited! See the note below for more info!

So the good news is that Stampin’ Up! has a new catalogue coming out October 1! The catalogue will feature all kinds of new stamp sets and accessories, not to mention loads of new ideas and colour combos! I am really excited about what this new catalogue will have. We demonstrators have been given a few peeks at some of the stamps - I’ve ordered one of them - stay tuned for previews!
The great news is that prices will be lower! How fabulous is that! When was the last time something got cheaper? It will now be easier to get all the stash you’ve been dying for!
Now for the Goodbye. To make room for all the new stamp sets and accessories, some of the current stamps will be retired! Click here for the list. These sets will be around for this last month - or until stocks last. BUT the great thing is that they are on offer! So if there is something you’ve been wanting on this list, get it now and get it cheaper! How great is that!

Find Joy
I really love how this card turned out! The colours were inspired by a colour challenge on the IN LOVE WITH STAMPING website. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. There are some wonderful people and some great ideas.
Speaking of joy, here is the little thing that I find joy in every day! Her name is Lauren.
This was on a recent trip to Bath, we stopped at the park and she found a tree to play under. It kept her amused for a good half hour!
